Frequently Asked Questions
Do you plan parties other than weddings?
Yes. We love working on celebrations of all kinds, and create lovely personalized dinner and cocktail events for birthdays, engagements, showers, business and holiday occasions…in homes, apartments and workplaces.
We are delighted to help you host the perfect party your perfect way.
Where do you typically work?
We are based in New Jersey, just outside of NYC.
We regularly work in the NY Metro area, New Jersey, Long Island, Westchester and Rockland County.
We are also happy to travel to Upstate NY, Pennsylvania and beyond.
What Does your Day-of-Wedding Coordination Service include?
Our Day-of-Coordination, should really be thought of as “Month of Coordination” culminating in full Wedding Day Management.
As your Day-of-Coordinator, we will meet with you to gather the specifics of your planning so we have a comprehensive overview your unique day. We include as much (or as little) pre-wedding help as you need.
It’s so important to get to know you, your vision, and your specific needs.
We will confirm every detail, conduct a venue walk-through, and create a detailed wedding day timeline for everyone involved so we are all on the same page. We’ll pass the timeline along to your vendors in the final stretch when we introduce ourselves as their wedding day primary point of contact.
Throughout the wedding day, we attend to vendor arrivals and questions, set-up your personal items, cue the ceremony, dances, speeches, liaise with the DJ/bandleader and catering, troubleshoot tweak and adjust anything that pops up, gather gifts for your departure and stay till the very end.
After all of the hard work you’ve done planning, you (and your families!) get the peace of mind to fully enjoy your celebration knowing all your details are under control.
If my venue has a coordinator, do I need to hire a you too?
Good question!
Venue coordinators are wonderful to have on board, and they typically oversee all aspects of the venue throughout the day. For example, they may manage the vendor load-in and set-up needs, manage the ceremony and reception furniture layout and preparation, food service execution, parking, etc. Venue coordinators work for the venue. As your wedding coordinators, we work directly for you on your wedding day and in the weeks leading up to it.
We love working alongside venue coordinators because while they attend to venue details, we can focus all of our attention on you.
If I hire you for Day-of, can I ask questions leading up to the day?
Of course! We are here for you throughout our relationship.
Ask as many questions as you like. We love talking about weddings.
Can you help me find last minute vendors and products?
Absolutely! We’d be delighted to help fill in your wedding team to keep the day running perfectly.
Do you bring an assistant?
Most often, yes. We usually have two sets of hands working for you for at least part of your day so that we can be in two places at once. All bases covered!
In some cases, one coordinator is all that’s needed due to the size, scope or location of the wedding.
What if I need more help than I thought?
If your needs change, we change with you. Our services are fully customizable…don’t worry about a thing.
What’s the best part of the wedding day?
Wow, there are so many Best Parts depending on who you ask, so I (Susan) will tell you my favorite part of the wedding day.
My favorite part of every wedding day is the ceremony. Hands Down, no exceptions.
Weddings are exciting, energized, emotional, filled with laughter, movement and noise…a whirlwind!
The one point when everything slows down and pulls us all together is the ceremony.
The reason we are here.
For a few short moments everyone in attendance focuses on the same thing...the momentous union of two people professing to take a lifelong adventure together. We all share in their energy, love and dreams of wonderful days ahead.
It is Magic! (gets me every time)
Do I Have to have (fill in the blank) at my wedding?
In my professional opinion…most likely “NO!”.
There is no hard and fast rule for modern weddings, you can include the elements, traditions and details that are important to you…and omit those that just don’t resonate. This is your Once-in-a-lifetime day.
The only required ingredient is Love ❤️
I’ll need at least a year to plan my wedding, right?
Not necessarily. Depending on the type of wedding you envision, the planning process can take two years or a few months! A fully planned, more traditional wedding benefits from a longer time frame (averaging 12-15 months) so that you have more venue and vendor options. Especially if you desire a weekend wedding in spring or fall. If your ideal wedding celebration is more casual, smaller or with fewer elements, you’ll have access to non-traditional venues and off-peak dates.
A longer engagement allows for more detail-specific planning, but can also create decision fatigue. A shorter time frame encourages decisive choices and requires a bit more flexibility with your options and elements.
Whatever approach works for you is the best approach.
One of my favorite weddings was a surprise ceremony at what the couple called their “Engagement Party”. Once the guests were seated for dinner, out came the officiant and the sneaky couple said “I Do”. The place erupted with joy!
Another favorite was a pandemic-era celebration that got pushed back…and back…and back. When the Big Day finally arrived, the season was different, so the menu changed, the florals changed, the ceremony was held outdoors and all of the guests were finally able to travel.
The vendors and the guests were So thrilled to finally celebrate that everyone was on top of the moon!
