Hi, I’m Susan, owner and lead planner of SMP Events.
My love for hospitality began 25+ years ago in New York City, working with prestigious caterers, private chefs, and national corporate event teams. Before long, I was overseeing elite dinner and cocktail soirees, captaining high-end weddings, and ultimately holding the high-pressure role of Maitre D' for 1,000 seat benefit Galas. Over time, I realized what really lit me up. The personal side of it all. The little details that make a celebration one-of-a-kind. The seamless flow that keeps everyone smiling. And that feeling when every guest feels truly special. I also firmly believe there’s no “right” way to celebrate — only your way. An intimate at-home wedding, food trucks and bánh mì on a family farm, traditional oh-so-perfect ceremony and reception, or rooftop vows with oysters and champagne overlooking the NYC skyline. Totally different vibes, all equally amazing. The common thread? Detailed planning, flawless execution, and pure joy. That joy — creating experiences that feel effortless and unforgettable — became my driving force. So, in 2004 I created SMP Events, a boutique planning company built on personalized attention, impeccable service, kindness, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. I’m so excited to help you create a celebration that’s unapologetically you. |

A party that has flow and calm leaves space for excitement and surprise! My flair for logistics and organization keep both large and intimate parties running smoothly, but my calm focus and innate ability to put people at ease are the qualities I am most proud to bring to my work. My Motto is, “Plan for the Big Picture, Focus on the Small Details” My greatest asset, though, is the people I work alongside. I have the profound pleasure of working with the most amazing bespoke caterers, florists, photographers and event professionals in the NYC area. Together, the SMP Events team brings respect, innovation and professionalism to your special occasion... and we wrap it all up by loving what we do! SMP Events is based in the metro NYC area. I have worked with many lovely clients in New York City, New Jersey, the Hudson Valley, Westchester, The Hamptons and beyond! I will happily travel to wherever you want to celebrate. |
