Hi, I’m Susan, owner and lead planner of SMP EVENTS.
I founded SMP EVENTS in 2004 after years of working for upscale caterers and corporate event organizations in and around NYC. Before long, I was overseeing elite dinner and cocktail soirees, captaining high-end weddings, and ultimately holding the high-pressure role of Maitre D' for 1,000 seat benefit Galas.
I often found myself gravitating toward the small details and specific needs of the clients, and I loved fine-tuning the event logistics and flow. A smooth and carefree guest experience gave me such joy! So I decided to create a company with those essential ideas at the forefront.
The first step is getting to know you.
As a boutique business owner, I am able to really focus on you. I am your partner and collaborator bringing years of experience to your ideas and plans.
I want to know everything!
I listen when you come to me with your celebration ideas, as we create the elements of your party, and most importantly I listen on the day of your celebration.
There is no limit on communication or exchange of ideas... I am always right by your side.
A party that has flow and calm leaves space for excitement and surprise!
My flair for logistics and organization keep both large and intimate parties running smoothly, but my calm focus and innate ability to put people at ease are the qualities I am most proud to bring to my work.
This is especially important as a wedding coordinator, since weddings are comprised of many moving parts and lots of emotion. Rest assured, I have been there before.

My greatest asset, though, is the people I work alongside.

SMP Events is based in the metro NYC area. I have worked with many lovely clients in New York City, New Jersey, the Hudson Valley, Westchester, The Hamptons and beyond!
